Satelite

Satellite House

Located in Satellite City, Mexico’s first middle class suburb developed in the 1950’s,the house was developed on a 10m by 30 m lot. It was designed around two existing Mexican cypress trees, each over 20 meters high, inspiring the interweaving of split levels and volumes throughout. The shape of the interior spaces reflects this design concept, with a series of dislocated and intersecting prismatic forms incorporating volcanic stone walls, culminating in main body of the house (containing the living room and main bedroom suite),which then projects outward toward the entrance.
