A housing developer, faced with a dearth of available urban lots, seeks to create new opportunities by redensifying existing multifamily complexes. Working together with residents, the developer proposes to construct new housing for elderly occupants in open spaces, while providing the existing residents with attractive updates and new amenities.

At the request of the developer, we developed three urban architectural proposals to carry out this innovative solution: East Village in Alphabet City, Gouvernour Garden in southern Manhattan, and Hillside in the north.
