Zoning rules for the lot located at Cerrada de Eugenia 18,in the Del Valle neighborhood of México City, permit the construction of 6 apartments on four levels with a half basement for parking. These regulations set the parameters for a design challenge, resulting in a building with two apartments per floor. The “extra” floor allows us to develop the “middle” apartments with a split level design in private areas and extra high ceilings in common areas. The design plays with these possibilities to produce a range of different atmospheres in interior spaces.

The facade reflects the varied interior heights with horizontal and vertical projections made of paterned concrete. The pattern is complemented by red mosaic tile and white brick.
